Telechips Achieves Record-Breaking Sales of Nearly 2,000 billion KRW!
On the 14th, Telechips announced its provisional financial results for the previous year, indicating a 27% increase in revenue, totaling 1,911 billion KRW compared to the previous year. During the same period, operating profit and net profit rose by 83% and 36%.
Telechips attributes this growth to its focus on the semiconductor business, particularly in application processors (AP) used in audio, video, and navigation (AVN) systems.
A Telechips representative stated, "The growth of the in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) market last year led to an increase in semiconductor supply to domestic and international automotive and military vehicle manufacturers, driving our financial performance". They further explained, "The expansion into the Japanese aftermarket and Southeast Asian before-market contributed to significant improvements in both revenue and profitability".
Notably, the sales of new application semiconductor products, such as head-up displays, clusters, and cockpit digitalization, increased by 120% compared to the previous year. Simultaneously, Telechips continued its growth trajectory in the core AVN semiconductor business, recording a 26% increase in revenue during the same period.
Additionally, Telechips secured a contract to supply the 'Dolphin3' semiconductor to Continental, a global automotive systems supplier based in Germany, last year. The agreement extends beyond semiconductor supply, involving collaboration on the development of high-performance smart cockpits, such as the 'HPC', and joint design efforts for future mobility architecture, including E/E systems.
In January, at the 'CES 2024' exhibition in Las Vegas, Telechips unveiled several cutting-edge products, including the next-generation cockpit semiconductor 'Dolphin5', a high-performance vision processor 'Endorphin' with applied neural processing units (NPU), microcontroller unit 'VCP3', network gateway 'AXON', and artificial intelligence (AI) accelerator 'A2X'.
