Telechips Partners with Continental, Supplying Dolphin3 for Smart Cockpit High-Performance Computing (HPC) Solutions
On the 15th, Telechips announced its supply of the ‘Dolphin3’ System on Chip(SoC) to Continental, one of the world's largest automotive component manufacturers.
In response to the rapid evolution of intelligence within the automotive industry, Smart Cockpit High-Performance Computing (Smart Cockpit HPC) has emerged as a pivotal element in the development of future intelligent vehicles, providing a wide-ranging driver experience.
Continental, with a 152-year history predominantly focused on hardware such as automotive tires and chassis, has recently expanded its portfolio into the software realm, aligning with the industry's transition to Software Defined Vehicles(SDV). The incorporation of high-performance computing(HPC) into automobiles by Continental marks a groundbreaking shift.
The recently unveiled Smart Cockpit HPC by Continental is a platform designed around a maximum of five cameras, alongside driver and central displays. Optimized for pre-integrated functions, the system not only ensures optimal performance but also impresses with rapid response times and a smooth user interface in cross-domain functionalities.
The Dolphin3, to be applied to this platform, plans to offer an outstanding user experience by integrating various domains and functionalities, including digital clusters, infotainment, and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems(ADAS), surpassing the premium segment.
Jean-François Tarabbia, Head of Continental's Architecture and Networking Business Aria, explains, "Collaborating with Telechips, we are enormously reducing development effort and costs for automotive manufacturers. Thus, we will be able to serve our customers from order intake to series production in 18 months."
Telechips' CEO, JK Lee, highlighted the significance of adopting Dolphin3 as the standard for Smart Cockpit HPC, emphasizing future collaboration with Continental on E/E architecture, ADAS, and other future mobility technologies. He adds, "With recent acquisitions of international standards such as ISO26262, TISAX, and ASPICE, we are strategically positioned to leap as a global comprehensive semiconductor solution company, excelling in both hardware and software competitiveness."
