Telechips and BdSound Announce Partnership to Enrich their Offer for Automotive Infotainment Applications.
Telechips and BdSound, after a long-standing collaboration, have entered into a Partnership Agreement to bring to the market a top-notch solution for speech processing inside the car, blending BdSound’s state-of-the-art SW technology with Telechips leading HW’s platforms.
Milan, Italy and Seoul, Korea -- Telechips, a leading automotive system on chip (SoC) supplier for in-vehicle and cockpit solutions, and BdSound, a leading provider of audio/voice technologies and services, today announced that they entered a Strategic Partnership Agreement to develop innovative solutions together bringing the best in-vehicle infotainment system to the market. The aim is to provide a very high-performance solution to customers in the automotive field who need a turn-key speech processing component.
The joint development will provide a full system implementation that allows customers to quickly integrate voice and speech processing into the car. The solution’s strength lies in a unique combination of a top-notch set of algorithms (BdSound S2C-A Simply Sounds Clear for Automotive) with a powerful System-on-chip platform (Telechip’s Dolphin 3 Smart Cockpit Solution). The complementarity of the two companies is the main ingredient of this promising technical and business collaboration. Also, they both bring a consolidated experience in working with global Tier-1 suppliers.

Both companies bring key technologies and expertise to the partnership. BdSound will integrate its proprietary ITU-certified S2C (Simply Sounds Clear) technology for noise reduction, echo cancellation, beamforming and even microphone bubbles, which guarantee the best audio quality for voice assistant interaction and hands-free communication and Telechips will provide its latest innovative Dolphin 3 processor family, an ideal SoC platform for Automotive Cockpit, Cluster, and Infotainment systems.

The car infotainment system is a hot market today due to an increased demand for safe and hands-free communication in the car. Potentially 1.3 billion cars would require a seamless connected experience and an in-car human-to-human and human-to-machine interaction strongly dependent on voice to ensure maximum safety for drivers. Speech processing applications require an increasingly sophisticated system integrated in the vehicle which should let the driver’s experience be the best possible even in the harshest situation (elevated level of noise, multiple people speaking).
